The San Diego Padres stunned the Philadelphia Phillies in NLCS Game 2, scoring eight unanswered runs in a victory that evened up the playoff series.

No one is saying the series is over, but Kyle Schwarber’s homer has Phillies fans believing the blast could carry them though October.

Zack Wheeler tossed seven scoreless innings and allowed one hit in the Phillies’ 2-0 win over the Padres in Game 1 of the NLCS.

This wasn’t supposed to happen to the 111-win Dodgers, the first team since 1906 to lose a postseason series to a team with 22 fewer victories.

The Padres rallied past the Dodgers with a five-run seventh inning in Game 4 to win the series. They advance to play the Phillies in the NLCS.

San Diego leads 2-1 in the NLDS over the Los Angeles Dodgers after their win on Friday night at Petco Park.

The Padres beat the Dodgers 2-1 – their first playoff win in front of their own fans since 1998 – to move one win away from the NLCS.
