A 19-year-old student at a Portland, Oregon, college was killed and two others were injured after a brick column collapsed Monday.

A father and son were rescued Wednesday as they clung desperately to a cooler after their lobster boat sank into Boston Harbor.

Tavis Dunbar, 34, was arrested and charged with three counts of first-degree murder and one count of attempted murder, police said Tuesday.

The city council voted to temporarily disband its three-member police department and contract services with the county sheriff’s department instead.

The hospital was placed under a “temporary and brief” lockdown, a spokesperson told USA TODAY.
